  • Lungs

On the walls inside the lungs there are tiny little hairs called cilia that keep the lungs clean and protect them from dust, dirt and germs.

Cigarette smoke kills the cilia so that there’s nothing to protect the lungs.

  • Cancer

The chemicals in cigarettes poison the body and this causes small lumps called tumours to grow. These tumours are cancer. They grow everywhere in the body, but especially the places where the cigarette smoke gets to first – like the mouth and throat, and lungs.

  • Men’s Health

Men who smoke may not look so different on the outside, especially when they are young. But inside, they are not nearly as healthy as men who don’t smoke. Men who don’t smoke are healthier and will father healthier babies.
