Insulin is a natural chemical in the body that helps the body
break down and get energy from sugar. The poisonous chemicals in
cigarettes send the insulin in the body out of balance and then the
body has trouble breaking down sugar. insulin is out of whack, the
body can’t get the good stuff out of food as well anymore so the
body works lets efficiently. This is what happens with
diabetes.

Quitting smoking greatly reduces your chances of
getting diabetes. Along with exercising and eating good foods, it’s
one of the best things you can do to live a long and healthy
life.
